We here at Seribu Bio Systems Sdn Bhd provide solution for Natural farming technology and open cultivation methods as well. Our solution for all the issues for the open cultivator’s is in our “Ecosoil Growbag”. Our grow bag comes along with the “Ecosoil” which serves as a meal for the plants for first 45 to 60 days ( saving fertilizer cost for one month plus ). “Ecosoil” comes long insecticide and fungicides microbes protecting the plants form external attacks and making the plant strong enough to fight against the extreme weathers.

What’s are Eco Soil’s Innovative Grow Bags:

Eco Soil’s durable grow bags are a low-cost UV treated and made from a specially formulated plastic that provides for a longer life than any other on the market.

Bags include pre-punched drain holes and easily stand upright when filled with media. Widely used in greenhouse drip irrigation applications and are excellent for bedding plants, tree seedlings, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, etc. Eco Soil Grow bags are filled with Grow Media (ready to use). So we take away the hassle of filling the bags by yourself. A space of 4 inches have been provided at the bottom of each bag to store water up to 3 to 4 days for big fruiting plants, this helps saving the cost of man power works and electrical for pumping in simultaneously.

The grow bag has been filled with special grow media (innovation of Eco Soil) which don’t require any chemical fertilizer or other fertilizer for the first 60 days so it will save the farmers cost. After every 60 days a special mix shall be added into the grow media to nourish it again and no need to add on any other fertilizer for next sixty days. Eco Soil Grow bag is all what a farmer or hobbyist need, because it have all what a plant needs, Farming was never this easy before.

Healthier Plant Roots

In pots, the roots of the plants tend to grow in circles entangling themselves. This increases the likelihood of having oxygenation or water stagnation issues, especially in larger pots that lack proper drainage. When the roots reach the edge of a plastic pot they continue growing in search more water and nutrients only to begin encircling the pot. This begins the process of structural damage to your plants. The roots become constricted leading to less water and nutrient intake. The stem of your plant will also become compressed which leads to tissue damage further restricting nutrient intake.

When growing in grow bags the roots will come in contact with the edge of the fabric pot and sense the drier soil exposed to the air. At this point they know they have reached their growth limit. The roots become "air pruned" which is vital to growing healthy plants in containers. This prevents over growth of roots eliminating girdling roots (roots that damage the structure of the plant). You will also get many more fibrous roots when air pruned. A more fibrous root system (many small root tips) allows the plants to take in more nutrients and water. Plastic potted plants encourage a few large roots to dominate and encircle the pot which constricts nutrient uptake.

Temperature Control

During the heat of summer and in direct sunlight plastic pots can get quite hot. Since they are not breathable they trap all the heat which can cook your plants. Grow bags regulate temperature due to their breathable quality. Excess heat is able to escape from all sides of the grow bag.

Watering Considerations

Since grow bags are porous they require more frequent watering. However, it is harder to over-water using a grow bag, as any excess moisture is allowed to wick out of the container. In contrast a traditional pot may need less watering but it is easy to over water. If you over-water a plant in a traditional pot they could drown and develop mold or fungus.

Storage

Where do you store the pots when not in use? Do they become empty eyesores on the back porch or stacked up in the shed in hopes they don't get crushed or broken in the off season? Traditional pots will need to be stacked for storage in the off season. However grow bags can be folded up and stored with minimal space each season.

Versatility

Grow bags are light weight and usually come with built in handles making them easy to move to different locations. They are popular since the can be brought from inside to out with ease and they take up minimal space when storing. Grow bags can even be planted directly in the ground as they are biodegradable.

Advantages of Grow Bags
  • Healthier Root System - Encourage root pruning rather than root circling
  • Temperature Control - Shed excess heat through breathable fabric
  • Prevents Over-watering - Excess water will percolate through the fabric material
  • Easy Storage - Can we folded up and stored with minimal space
  • Versatile - Can be easily moved or planted directly in the ground

FARM & SOIL RESTORATION

Soil Restoration

Our soils are in trouble. Over the past century, we’ve abused them with plowing, tilling and too much fertilizer.

What many think of as “just dirt” is actually an incredibly complex mixture of rock-derived minerals, plant-derived organic matter, dissolved nutrients, gases and a rich food web of interacting organisms?

We rejuvenate the existing soil with microbes, these cluster of microbes interact closely with each other, forming complex networks. They communicate with chemical signals. They work together to break down complex organic materials, including dead plants and animals. They often work in teams to complete biochemical processes, such as transforming nitrogen from an inert gas to plant-usable forms, and recycling it from dead plant materials back into dissolved forms.

First we shall see what is soil restoration & what’s its importance

Soil restoration (SR) is the technique of enhancing compacted soils to improve their porosity and nutrient retention. It includes biological (worms) and mechanical aeration, mechanical loosening (tilling), planting dense vegetation, and applying soil amendments.

How Does Soil Restoration Work (Our Solutions) ?

The intent of soil restoration is to improve soil structure by increasing porosity for root growth and microbial activity, and to provide a source of organic substrate to retain more water and nutrients for plant uptake. Compost, the most common soil amendment, contains a mixture of organic matter that enhances soil structure, infiltration, root growth, and water-holding capacity and reduces soil compaction.

By plowing and overtilling, we have increased erosion on agricultural fields by 10 to 100 times natural rates. Over just the last several decades, we may have lost about half of the topsoil that natural processes produced over thousands of years in the Malaysian Rice production

Topsoil is rich in soil organic matter – dark spongy material formed from decomposed plant and animal tissue. Soil organic matter is critically important: It helps soils hold onto water and nutrients and supports soil microbes that recycle nutrients. Loss of soil organic matter has made many farms increasingly reliant on fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides.

Much recent research has focused on adding organic material back to soils to restore them. This is an important strategy, but I believe we also should aim to enhance the microbes that are responsible for soil formation. I was part of a research team that demonstrated in a 2015 study that adding efficient microbes to soils can enhance the percentage of plant carbon that is transformed into soil. New research suggests that by fostering an efficient and active soil microbiome, we can accelerate soil regeneration far beyond typical rates seen in nature.
