Biodiversity & Environmental Regeneration

Restoration Ecology is the practice of renewing and restoring degraded, damaged, or destroyed ecosystems and habitats in the environment by active human intervention and action, that initiates or accelerates the recovery of an ecosystem with respect to its health, integrity and sustainability.

Natural ecosystems provide services in the form of resources such as food, fuel, timber and services such as the purification of air and water, the detoxification and decomposition of wastes; delivery of nutrients and plant protection, the regulation of climate, regeneration of soil fertility and the pollination of crops. We recognize that biodiversity has an intrinsic value and that we have a responsibility to conserve it for future generations.

These ecosystem processes have been estimated to be worth trillions of dollars annually. The commercial applications of ecological restoration have increased exponentially in recent years.

Environmental degradation and destruction of many of the Earth's biota is taking place on a catastrophically short timescale with 75% of our biodiversity being lost in the last three decades. Habitat loss is the leading cause of both specie extinctions and ecosystem service decline.

Two methods have been identified to slow the rate of species extinction and ecosystem service decline, they are the conservation of currently viable habitat, and the restoration of degraded habitat.

Seribu Bio and its natural science team, will actively conduct ecological restoration of biodiversity and natural soil in agricultural and natural landscapes, through a wide scope of projects including; permaculture design, erosion control, reforestation, removal of non-native species and weeds, revegetation of disturbed areas, daylighting streams, reintroduction of native species with habitat and range improvement for targeted species.

Seribu Bio provides the practical and actionable solutions to mitigate and prevent further pollution of the environment, to restore degraded ecosystems and restore our stewardship of the natural capital resources of biodiversity and natural soil and regain humanity’s place in the natural ecosystem.

For humanity to thrive, the environment must prosper from our stewardship!
